Every year, we see this film as the start our holiday season, 

(Best watched just after Thanksgiving dinner)

Plot: 

Businessman Neal Page (Steve Martin) is trying to get home to Chicago to spend Thanksgiving with his wife (Laila Robins) and kids, Due to a freak snowstorm, he is stuck trying to find alternate ways home.. On a flight from New York, he meets Del Griffith (John Candy), a loud mouth salesman that Neal finds extremely annoying. Their banding together means hilarity will ensue as they search for any way to get home to Chicago.

The film chased snowfalls across the USA, finally most of the snow was trucked in.

The rental car was designed to look like the Griswold's station wagon!
