About Us

Our History:

​

It all began one frozen December evening, when I, warm and cuddly in my footy pajamas, sat down in front of the old console TV and flipped (yes there was no TV remote back then) from station to station.  Suddenly I landed on something new. In a swirl of color, with excitedly upbeat music, I was hooked... It was the first time I remember seeing the CBS special presentation introduction. It caught my attention, but then some old black and white footage of a snowstorm came on (I thought it may be a news bulletin) but then! Oh, the most amazing thing appeared on the screen: a talking, moving, singing snowman!

 

I had stumbled upon Rankin/Bass' Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. And, let me tell you... for 6 year old me, it was amazing.

 

Little did I know, that was the start of my love affair (and exhaustive hunt) for Christmas movies! Good, or bad, funny or sad, every year I would scour the TV guide (the paper version, no internet searches back then friends) and try to watch as many Holiday specials, TV shows, and Christmas movies that I could get my hands on. 

 

Over the years, it did not slow down, Christmas movies kept being rolled out, and with each passing year a new classic (or flop) was made, and I saw them all! Now after all these years, and after all these warm memories, I want to bring them to you!

So, here is my list of holiday shorts, specials, TV shows, full length feature films and more!

We here at The Christmas Movie Marathon hope that, in years to come, when you snuggle in front of the TV on a cold wintry evening and watch your favorite films, you can thank us for reconnecting you to an old favorite, or perhaps we helped you find a new show to add to your holiday memories.
